Antonio's Pizzeria is old skool Italian in the best way!

Located on Ventura Blvd in Sherman Oaks, Antonio's Pizzeria has been around before I was born! (That means its been around a long, long, long time!) Originally established in 1957 Antonio's Pizzeria is the place to go for old school Italian food. The kind where you wear a napkin bib and slurp up your sauce. The kind where you order a bottle, (maybe two bottles), of Chianti and sit with your friends and family to converse, to celebrate and to pig out! The kind of place where you feel at home and comfortable and the owners Alex and Steven know you by name.

I used to work in Sherman Oaks and must have passed by Antonio's at least 100 times and thought, I should stop by...but never did. After having it, I regret not coming in sooner. Everything is made from scratch and there are gluten free options also! I won't lie, the plates are a gut buster, but I definitely suggest getting one of their hearty salads to go with your pasta or pizza. Then take the leftovers home.

Iceburg lettuce, garbanzo and kidney beans, cucumbers, tomato and beats. Choice of antonio's homemade dressing, Italian or blue cheese or ranch. Simple, but a great starter to the meal.

Crispy cucumber, tomato, olives, red onion, basil and garbanzo beans. Its simply dressed with oil and vinegar. Its so fresh, so good! I actually really liked eating this salad in between bites of the other dishes.

Cheese filled spinach tortellini in a garlic Alfredo sauce, topped with chicken, basil, sun-dried tomatoes. The combination of the sun-dried tomatoes and basil with the richness of the Alfredo was sublime!

Potato dumplings prepared with marinara sauce and ricotta cheese, topped with baked mozzarella. The gnocchi was so light and delicate. Its hard to believe it stood up to such a sturdy marinara. But it did! Great combo!

Boneless breaded chicken breast sauteed in marinara and wine, topped with mozzarella cheese. The chicken was tender and most and super cheesy with the added mozzarella. Antonio's a great place to catch dinner after work, to go on a date or even celebrate a birthday. I'll definitely be back! Be sure to ask for the owners and tell Alex that Norma sent you.
