I love Republique in Los Angeles!

When you walk in to Republique you would never know that you were sitting in the heart of LA. From the high cathedral ceilings to the tiles on the floor, the European decor transports you to another place.
I've been wanting to go to Republique for years, but living on the East Side of LA, its not always the easiest to drive to get here. I'm so glad I finally did! Depending on the time of day you go, expect a line. Early on a weekend morning, the line will be long. But oh so worth it. There is some street parking if you don't mind a short walk or you can Valet for $8.
The menu is pretty simple. There's eggs, breakfast sandwiches, rice bowls and pastries. Everything we tried was packed with flavor. Pro tip....I thought this was a sit down restaurant with servers. It is not. As you stand in line, you'll get passed a menu to view and ponder. As you get closer to the front door, you'll see a fresh juice and pastry counter. The staff will ask you if you want anything and then point you towards a cashier at the end of the counter where you will put in your food and coffee order. They will give you a number and you will seat yourself. I love that it is communal seating. The chance of being able to chit chat with LA's hung over is a great conversation.
Republique is now one of my favorite breakfast/brunch places in LA. I highly recommend the croque madam and all of their baked goods. The adobo fried rice was awesome too, but I'm dying to try the Kimchi Fried Rice.

The food at this restaurant was provided complimentary or at a discounted price, however all opinions are 100% mine. A free meal does not buy a good review.
