The best way to be a cowgirl in the city is go to The Ranch in Anaheim.

Can you believe the owner of a rapidly growing electronics company had the nerve to think he could build a restaurant AND saloon on the first floor of the corporate headquarters of his Electronics company? Well he did, and it worked! Andrew Edwards is a genius. When designing the corporate headquarters for his international business he chose to add the restaurant and saloon to the first floor as he felt that he couldn't get the kind of food he really wanted in orange county. Also, he was a fan of country western and really wanted a place where he could kick his boots up and two step or see a live band. He's not trying to compete with the nearby entertainment venues, just give locals another option. The Ranch Restaurant opened in 2010 serving up some of the best steaks on the west coast. In addition, he ended up buying a farm that grows all the organic produce used at the restaurant located just a few miles away. Did I mention he's a genius?
The menu is primarily meat with some fish, chicken and pasta thrown in. The decor actually very much follows the lines of the menu, rustic yet sophisticated. The food is deliciously rich and decadent. Don't plan on leaving without consuming 3000 calories, but its a treat. A beautiful gracious treat that I will partake again and again on any special occasion.
My pro-tip is to order the steaks to share....anywhere from 2 to 4 people depending on hunger level. Then order all the sides you can to share. There was nothing that I didn't like on my visit.

The food at this restaurant was provided complimentary or at a discounted price, however all opinions are 100% mine. A free meal does not buy a good review.
