The Craftsman in Santa Monica has a special place in my heart
Located on Broadway one block over from the 3rd Street Promenade The Craftsman is serving up some seriously yummy bar bites and some deliciously strong cocktails to get ya tipsy! You can find parking on 2nd in between Broadway and Santa Monica (closer to Broadway)
When you first walk into the building, you'll notice the high ceilings and fully stocked bar. You'll also notice its not like the other trendy bars on 3rd Street. No crystal chandeliers or architecturally designed wood walls. You'll see a bartender that greets you will a smile and furniture that was probably in your grandparents house. After all its called The Craftsman and its about vintage. It represents a time gone by. A casual familiar, a place where you feel like you're at home.
So just to clarify. This is a bar that has food. This is not a restaurant that also serves a cocktail. There's not a James Beard Award winning Chef in the kitchen. However, there is someone who is cooking up some delicious food. The kind of food Chefs eat at midnight when they are leaving their kitchens after long day of Chefing. And to me, that says a lot.
Let's start with some of their delicious cocktails. This is the Strawberry Fields. It contains Vodka, fresh lemon, strawberries, basil and sugar.
This is the Southsider- Gin, fresh lime, mint and sugar.
Pictured is the House Whiskey Shot- Irish Whiskey and 21 day aged house made pickle juice as a chaser.
Big Poppas Plant Based Burger. The patty is made in house from mushrooms, garbonzo beans, vegetable protein and garlic. Served with a house made pickle.
Crispy chicken sandwich-Hand battered chicken breast with lettuce, pickles, mustard and mayo. Served with a house made pickle.
BBQ Burger - Cheddar cheese, Housemade coleslaw, grilled onions and made from scratch BBQ sauce
Meet the famous Craftsman Tater Tots. Perfectly fried, not greasy and season with a secret. Sooo good.
