Tito's Tacos will always have a place in my heart

When I think of Tito's Tacos, I think of the huge yellow sign and the mounds of yellow cheese. I first started going when I was a kid in Orange County. That is, until they closed it. Now as an adult, I go to the one in Culver City. With the exception of the prices going up it hasn't changed over the years. And there is never any parking. Not even at obscure hours of the day. They have a take out window and out door seating along with limited indoor seating.

The menu is simple. They have two kinds of tacos. With cheese and without cheese. You can have your burritos with meat, with beans, with meat and beans, with rice and all of the above can have cheese. They have a tamales and they have chips and salsa. If you'd like something additional, then you'll need to go somewhere else. But you won't.

The meat burrito is a shredded melt in your mouth beef that sits in a enchilada like chili sauce that makes my mouth water as I think about it. The taco is a crunchy beef taco that is loaded with shredded lettuce, tomatoes and of course yellow cheese. The chips are sturdy and don't fall apart when you dunk them in the house made tomato salsa.

Find a friend, share an all meat and cheese burrito. Order two crunchy tacos and sit on the outdoor patio. Yummzers!
